EKO 40

Check the secondary air settings. I was having trouble staying in gasification a week or so back and I had to keep opening the top door and shifting the coals to get it back to gasifing. It would run good for a bit and then stop again. Every time I did this I would get allot of puffing that would shake the front cover that the fans are attached to as I was adding allot of air to the wood. It would eventually calm down and stop this. It took me awhile but I decided to check the secondary air settings and found that they were way out of whack. The puffing had loosened up the air settings and when I reset them the stove is running like it should again. Just something to try.

But this morning the house was cold and when I went to load it it was still full. I don't believe it was bridging as the wood was sitting on the coals. Have any of you had your nozzle get plugged with coals? There was a (what I believed) very nice bed of coals when I loaded it last night. The coal bed was still hot this morning.

Never happened to me, and I have a hard time imagining how it could happen. Have you tried raking the coals around and refiring?

If you have the newer control, did it say "fuel" when you checked it out this morning?
If so, the boiler shut down because it could not raise the water temp within whatever time frame the control is set for. Factory default on the new control is 2 hours.
