Output temp stays the same with different draft settings. Why??

I would certainly think so.

My stove has two adjustments, one being the heat setting, which changes auger speed and combustion blower speed (maybe?).
The other adjustment on Lopis is call the "restrictor", which is really a damper on the incoming air, or draft control. If I close it?...my fire will almost go out, even with the heat set on low. If I open it all the way on low?...it will blow the fire out of the box. Haven't tested it...but pretty sure that would happen...

Are you sure everything ELSE is sealed up?...ash bin, door sealed properly/tightly enough?

Really sounds like you have an air leak.

I have since had the stove replaced with a new one, and my flame is much better, but I came home today and the first floor temperature was 64, exactly where my oil heating system thermostat was set to. The room the stove is in is warmer, maybe 70 - 72. It was in the 20's today and I am beginning to think the stove cannot really heat my first floor (1,100 sq. ft.) as I had hoped, and certainly is implied in the St. Croix literature and from my dealer. I leave it running on heat level 3 full time. I used an instant meat thermometer to measure the temp out if the front yesterday and got to 210 degrees on heat level 5. I haven't measured on heat level 3 recently, but the last time I did it was around 170 - 180.

What kind of pellets are you using. I bought three tons of Warm Front, made by New England Pellets, and I think they are part of the problem. I did try 2 bags of Lignetics Pellets with the old stove and had much better heat output.

Not sure what the issue is with these Yorks, but from what I have read on this forum and others, the inserts do not work as well as free standing. Unfortunately I cannot fit a free standing one!!
