I just bought a 5 ton Northern electric log splitter on sale for $279 yesterday.. Anyone have one of these and did they do a good job for you?? How long did it last?? Thanks Greg

I work with a guy who bought one of these for his wife. He halves or quarter the rounds and she makes them stove size from there. He says it works great.
 
Works well on straight grain pieces. Big knots, crotches, elm, etc you have to really get creative on getting this splitter to work on them.
 
Well,, I used the 5 ton yesterday. :coolgrin: Not very happy would not split my dry oak.. So I'm taking it back and getting a 13 ton gas powered.
