looking for info on older Fisher wood stoves

This is the only manual that I have found although there may be more out there.

The picture in my avatar is of my grandma bear fisher.

I will scan right now the brochure that I have which came from the dealer in 1981 where my stove was purchased.

Give me a few minutes so I can try and learn how to stitch the two pictures together as it is too big to scan in one shot.

If you need clearance specs and so forth once you figure out your stove let me know. I have a manual that came with my stove and covers all of these models from 1981. It might not be until Tuesday evening that I could get it scanned, as I have a lot going on this evening and tomorrow, but let me know if I can help.

Here is the front of the advertisement. Is it possible to make this anymore 1981 America? Perhaps an Apple Pie somewhere on here that I am missing?

do you load your stove up after it is burning real good shut it down at night and the same when you go to work. i have a damper on the back that i turn all the way down and screw in the front closed also.

For the day, I wake up in the morning, load the stove, and burn it hot (up to about 500 or so on chimney thermometer) then throttle it back to about the damper at 1:30 position and each draft open 1 to 1 1/4 turns. This creates a burn that reads about 400 on the chimney thermometer and will be out by mid-late morning. I don't try to leave the stove burning all day as it would have to smolder in an attempt to still be alive when the wife and I return. My house is well insulated so it is not too cold when we get home. Even if it is, that old grandma bear can throw some heat and can heat things up in no time so I don't get concerned.

At night;

About an hour before I head to bed I put a couple of pieces (about 2-3 medium) on the stove and let it burn hot so that it can be a big mass of burning coals. I then load the firebox front to back about like this like this or so (this is a cold start on kindling so a piece or 2 more, and bigger pieces would typically be used for overnight)



I leave the damper and drafts open for a few minutes to get the wood charred well and the stove up to temp 400-500. I then put the damper at about a 45 degree angle (1:30 on a clock face) and close my front drafts so that they are each 3/4 of a turn open.

With this situation every night the stove will drop to about a 300 degree chimney temperature burn and will leave me with coals in the morning to start from about 7-8 hours later. Some morning I can start right off with large pieces of wood like a normal load, other days I need to put a few pieces of kindling under my load of wood first to help kick things off.

This year I am primarily burning beech but also burn ash, maple and cherry.
