Easy Question I hope from Newbee

Looks like your feed rate is too high for the amount of combustion air available to the burn pot--or the burn pot air holes are clogged. What does your flame look like?? Any possibility of an air leak in the seals??

i would do a full cleaning, then start with a full review of your door,hopper,ash pan seals then start er up and give it more air (open the damper)

Might help if you said what make & model stove you have, how long you've had it, etc.

I have an Astoria FS, but your stove and mine are almost the same. If you have the heat setting on low, and the air control on 2-3, that should run fine. The fact that you say it runs all day, and then the burn pot fills with pellets is strange. When was the last time the stove was given a good cleaning?

Do the holes in the burn pot stay clear, and blow the ash out, or does it build-up?

I have been running my Astoria for the past 2 days 24/7, on Heat #2, and air at 2.....no problems.

BTW, I suggest next time put something more descriptive in the subject line, like "Lopi Yankee Bay pellet buildup", or something like that...helps attract people that have the same (or similar) stove to the thread.

Well, according to the manual, you need to increase the air. Try going up to 3 1/2-4. Usually when you have to increase the air intake to keep the firepot holes clean means you have a dirty stove.

Glad it's running better. Do you have an owners manual? It explains in there what to clean under "maintenance" or "cleaning".

Are you the original owner?

If you find it, it should explain what to clean. If you can't find it, let me know...... I can email you one, although it's a '08 manual. Probably about the same, I would think. Look on the back of your stove, there should be a sticker telling you what year it was made. If the sticker isn't there, it might be on the hopper lid when you lift it up.

Also, take a look under the yellow sticky topics at the top of the page here in the forum...The ones about troubleshooting your stove, and the routine maintenance one will help too.
