I have a quadrafire santa fe insert and it has worked well for 2+ years but now I have an auger problem. I have read alot of the posts here and somewhat know whats wrong. I cleaned everything out and sucked on the vacuum hose to get the switch to open and that fixed the problem for a day or two then it did the same thing. I thought about wiring it to bypass the switch unless I can find out exactly what I need to do to fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated!

Just out of curiousity, what exactly is the auger problem? Is it feeding too much, or not feeding at all, noisey, etc..
It shuts off after 5 minutes or so and when I try to get the switch to open by sucking on the hose like I did to get it working it does nothing.

That will help. I'll wait to see if some quadrafire experts can help as I am not familiar enough with your stove. I guess I'll assume that since you have been doing this for a couple years that the stove is regularly cleaned and that the feed rate is adjusted properly. Do you have a flashing yellow light on the control box? Shut downs can be caused by a bad thermo-coupler which should be indicated by the flashing yellow light.
It flashes blue until I hit the rest button then it shuts off but my auger still won't work. If it is a bad thermo coupler would it work then shut off? I'm pretty sure it's the vacuum switch.

Umm, sounds like 2 different problems. The switch has to close for the auger to be powered. However, if the auger is powered but stuck, it's not the switches fault. I found on my 1200i, that a couple of seasons on that nylon block auger bearing has wallowed it out some and the auger binds easier. I used silicone spray on it, cuz you don't want gease in there.

O.k. The vacuum switces have a delicate mechanism and they will go bad. You might want to try another. It's a safety control that you don't really want to bypass for very long. Just curious, did you check the negative pressure in the chamber while the combustion fan is running? Mine will pull .04 to .05 inches of water column no problem. Not sure where the switch for yours cuts in as they're all different.
On my 1200 quad , I had a similar problem , I had to clean out fitting on auger tube where hose connects to from the vaccumme switch .
I finally got a hold of a technician where I bought it and he told me to try the reset switch on the auger and to make sure the openings on the vacuum switch and auger tube are clear and to make sure the hose is COMPLETELY clear. He said you might be able to blow through it but that there might be something blocking it partially. So I'm going to try that. I'm curious why nobody said anything about the reset on the auger tube. Crossing my fingers it will work!

Is the auger dumping pellets on start up, ignites and then will not dump anymore pellets. Is that your problem or something else?
Pull your auger and check to see if there are anything in there that should not be. I found a piece of paper in mine this morning.
