We recently purchased a used jotul which I think is the older blackbear. It is green enamel and has a woodsman/forest picture on sides. We are trying to locate a manual. We are not sure how top inside plate sits. We also have two side inner plates but no bottom plate. Any info on this stove would be helpful.

Have you gone to their web site? I know you can download an owner's manual for current models. I'm not sure about older models. The web site will also give Jotul's phone number in Portland Maine. You can try calling and requesting an owner's manual. I also have an older Jotul but was lucky that the previous owner had all of the parts as well as an owner's manual. Good luck.

There is no bottom plate. fill with sand/ gravel.
The top plate (if memory serves) has an angled end. This is facing up, and toward the door. The back end of the plate butts against the rear of the stove...

Cool! Never knew there was a plate down there... .Hey Dad!

I just rebuilt a 118B and replaced all 3 burn plates. After I got it back together and broke in I got a great deal on a Englander 30 and used that to replace the 118. The 118 is a great stove but the 3.5 fire box in the Englander gives me the longer burns that I wanted. :)
