Hello,

I have an older Breckwell P24FS that I am trying to get working properly before it starts getting cold around here. The problem currently is that changing the setting the pellet feed rate knob has little or no effect on the amount of pellets being fed to the burn pot. Does anyone know what, internally, controls this? It looks like all of the controls are linked to a single board. I really need to be able to cut back the on the amount of pellets at night.

Thanks!

Sounds like a bad pot (the electronic vari-control)....in most cases, this increases the speed of the auger which then feeds more pellets. Of course, it could be deeper in the control board....or even something else. Most control board failures require replacement of the whole board, unfortunately.

Send Rod (hearthtools) the moderator of this forum, a PM. I think he should know and also has parts for these.

I did some further investigating and timed the interval when pellets are dropped into the burn pot--every 11 seconds regardless of the position of the feed rate knob.
Does the feed rate knob control the RPM of the auger or the interval?

Thanks!
