It's interesting they publish efficiency specifications for the Mt Vernon but not the other 3 inserts in the brochure. I can only assume they aren't great.

there is no industry standard as of right now that would be a fair to use for brand to brand once the irs figuers out what will qualify for the new tax credit you may be able to get a better grip on it as not all stove will make i think if you asked quad you would most likely get 75% from them.

I would think all wood pellet stoves are 75% or better. Just based on the concept alone.

I meant to call attention to what one might think sans real specs. A pessimist might assume they suck. No industry standard between brands I understand (and miss), but it does make one wonder why they don't publish inter-brand specs for all the pellet stoves in the Quad brochure (unless I'm missing them).

Here's something to check. When I removed and cleaned the baffle after burning my first ton of pellets, I noticed that the baffle wasn't in correctly. The space was on the right instead of the left and the tab wasn't in the slot. When I put it back the right way with the tab in the slot and the space on the left it was like a new stove. For a few days I was smelling the new paint smell. Efficiency seems to be up and the temperature of the outside stack is cooler to the hand.
