I was doing an experimental sawdust burn today, burning nothing but fines, it was like flour. After 20 minutes or so when i looked into the secondary chamber, I noticed the walls were sagging and the ceiling had bright red drops hanging from it.The refractory is rated at 2600 but the flame was completely clear, mostly hydrogen I think. Ill open it up in the morning and see what happened if anything, maybe I'm spending too much time watching the flame and starting to hallucinate!!

Sure hope you were hallucinatinge Wade!

I opened up the secondary chamber and where the jet drops down into the chamber there are solidified droplets of something, and the first 8 inches of the tube are no longer flat bricks.I guess no more fines until i beef up the bricks.! I get the pyrometer tomorrow so now I can have some numbers to go with the flame.
