Englander 25-PDVC vacuum switch oddity

I was just getting ready to remove and clean my combustion blower when I noticed my vacuum switch hose looked odd. When I started looking at it the end towards the blower was cracked and had small pieces missing and when I touched it it fell off both the blower and the switch. the hose looks dry rotted or like it was getting too warm. I thought when this tube was broke or missing the switch would loose its vacuum and shut the stove down? There was no way a vacuum was being pulled on the switch.


Just for info this unit had a man. date of 9/01.

hose apparantly was damaged by long term heat, as for the switch i would have figured it would shut the unit down , it may be stuck closed, gimme a call at the shop and we'll take a look at it and see if we can determine what is up with the switch , it should have long since shut down the unit if the hose was compremised

Ok, thanks Mike it'll be later this afternoon when I get home. Do you have an extension I should use?

Mike just got off the phone with one of your techs. Come to find out my unit was made when you first started puttting the vaccum switches in. Come to find out the jumper was still on the board from when you didn't use the vacuum switch. All good now, just need a new vacuum hose.
