I am having a terrible time trying to install new baffles in my #121 box stove. I bought new side burn plates to replace the badly warped ones in it and was hoping to continue use the original baffles. They looked to be in good shape with no cracks and minimum warping but they would not fit. I got new baffles but they don't fit any better than the old ones. I can't get the two halves to fit where they overlap. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, I finally worked it out. I had to grind a couple notches in the top center flanges of the fire plates to allow them to spread wide enough to accommodate the baffles. Before doing this the fire plates hit there before the front and back flanges contacted the sides. The baffles came right together then. So now my Jotul 121 and the Magic Heat reclaimer in the stack is heating my 1800 square foot shop very well. Thanks for asking.

The baffles will warp (as you noticed) over time changing the shape. Great solution you came up with. I'll
give it a try on my shop 121. I Place some firebricks on the baffles to help dissipate some of the direct heat.

It's a great stove.
