Maine
So far I have gone through two tons of pellets. The first was from Maine "Premium" wood pellets and the Second was from Green Team out of PA. The Maine pellets are terrible. They don't burn very hot, and produce prodigious amounts of ash. I doubt that they are hardwood at all. The Green Team pellets burn considerably hotter and the pellets seem to hold together much better, and there is WAY less dust in the bags. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good, high quality pellets available in the southern Maine area? Thanks!

i would check local lowes, HD and hardware store and see what they have for brands and then report back

Scarborough Walmart always seems to have plenty of Penningtons. There is some saw dust in the bags but the pellets seem to burn well?

My best luck has been with Penningtons or Fireside Ultras. Don't waste your time with Corinth or Athens...some people have had good luck I think most people are staying away from them. I think it all depends on your stove. I have an Englander PDV and Corinths are horrible in it, they make clinkers and lots of ash. My aunt has a Sierra and doesn't have near as many problems with clinkers and ash. All depends I guess.

Not sure if you'd be interested but I was just browsing and saw that there is a new ad on Craigslist for 4 tons of hardwood pellets in Saco for $195 each. Doesn't specify the brand.

We bought some Clean Energy from Lowe's in South Portland and are mixing them with the crappy Athens pellets...in our Enviro they produce cook-you-out heat...with quite a bit less ash...
