The dilema continues. I was all set on saving some money, ripping and tearing at the hearth, extending it even further, taking up more living room space all for a free standing stove.

And then I saw that Blazeking has an insert :D

Any blazeking owners out there want to chime in? I'm looking that the Princess Insert. I already have the full 6 inch SS liner installed, all the way to the top. I plan to place a block off plate when I get a new stove. Running without one now on an old insert, works O.K. *indoor chimney*

Blazeking...pro's? Con's? I for the LIFE of me can't find a price quote anywhere online...

There's another oregonian on this site who just installed a BK insert in addition to another non-cat stove in the house. He loved it and could give you local prices.

The princess i'm looking at requires a 6 inch flue....My house is only 1000 square feet between the main floor, and upstairs...tri-level ranch. 700 square feet downstairs that I wont be heating. I would go for the BIG one, but I would roast out of here. And I would have to buy a new liner...spendy spendy.

TRY PMing Fattyfat1, bfunk13 and danielson. These are good people to talk with. Good luck on your price. They are American and Canadian made.

When I was looking last April-I was quoted $2800 cdn. for just the plain door etc. Pricey, but still wish I had gone that route. Really nice to have those long burn times specially when we have mostly softwood to burn out here on the west coast. If you can afford it?? Go for it !!

Well, I just got off the phone with my local stove shop....2,500! OUCH. But, I think it will be worth it...

I have 1500 saved, time to start crunching!

I don't think you could go wrong with the BK princess insert, great choice.

I PM'ed one from a Blazeking thread I read, he has an insert. Haven't had a chance to PM the others yet....

I just got off the phone with a local BK dealer and was quoted $2900.00 for the princess with a black door and small surround, nice to see the prices are pretty close to what others have been quoted.

I cant say enough good things about my BK.
We heat our entire house (1600 sq ft upper level) with this stove.
I came home from work the other night to a 83 degree living room.
Not bad when working out in the cold all day.
Our stove has pretty much ran 24-7 since late October. Without a hiccup.
They are a bit pricey, but the quality is there. Worth every penny.
Our gas bill this month was $48.00 . Gotta love it.
