still 1299 here according to ther website

I would give them a couple or three more weeks up here in maine. We are still in the heart of winter. I would bet they will go on sale in New England a few weeks later then the Mild Atlantic area.

The S. Reading store has only a couple left @ 649.

Keep your eye out. I picked mine up for 600 last year about this time.

I bought one of these today for 649 and it will be my second pellet stove. The last one was an insert I had back in Wyoming in 1996-97.

This one is going to replace a POS wood burning stove that was in the walkout basement when I bought my house 5 yrs ago. This stove vents off the back and through the wall to a chimney that rises up through the eave. At this point my house is a two story.

I have a question though -- do I need to run brand new pipe the whole way or can i vent into the existing venting that is outside. I think it is 8 inch pipe outside and maybe 6 inch off the stove in through the wall.

Pellet stoves MUST use double-wall pipe that is specifically approved for pellet use. Depending upon your install you may need 3" or 4" (length, elbows & elevation determine this) but personally I'd just go with the 4" anyway figuring it can go longer before it starts to get congested...

EDIT: uh... I just re-read your post and I guess you only want to re-use the outside portion... I am not sure if this could be allowed or not. Probably best to ask the building inspector before you get started.

Picked it up tonight and it seems like a nice little stove perfect for the basement. Now I have to go to a stove store for some pipe and then locate some pellets.

I do have a problem I can't seem to get the lid of the hopper to open up. There are two latches and when i lift them, the lid comes up a little bit but won't open all the way. I don't want to yank on it to bend anything. I would look in the manual but I think it is in the hopper ;-)

You need to spin the handles 90 degrees...the left handle spin counterclockwise and the right handle clockwise 90 degrees.

Just bought mine at Lowe's this afternoon! $625.00 + $99.00 for the pipe kit (also 50% off)!!

Lowes on Broad Street (in Richmond, VA) still has one left at this price.

Well it looks like there will be no sale for those of us in Maine. This has been driving me crazy for the past week, so I went to the store in Augusta and spoke with the store manager. The manager said that the stoves were now being stocked year round and would not be going on sale like last year. He said this applied to all Maine stores, he said New Hampshire and Mass are in a different district so they might still go on sale but he was not sure on that.

When Lowes wants to get rid of merchandise they don't mess around.

They cut prices in a huge way.

Best deals in town. They were dumping dog carriers/cages for $8.00 in December when the exact same ones were selling for $85.00 elsewhere.

Lowes is much better than HD IMO.

All I can say is you got a KILLER deal. From what I have read on this forum, if you ever have a problem, you have excellent user and factory support. Now all you have to do is focus on doing a top notch install and learn the cleaning routine to avoid most of the problems that people seem to have with all pellet stoves. I am new to pellet burning, but will be documenting, with pictures, cleaning and maintenance procedures on the stove I have as time goes by.

excellent find. I've had good luck with clearance stuff at both of them from time to time.

The other day I got a few (4 I think) bags of pellets at $3/each because the bags were ripped. Easy enough to see that they weren't wet/damaged and they even taped the bags up for me. Picking them up and eyeballing them you could tell they were a little light (maybe 10%), but I'm sure I came out well ahead.

hello everyone I'm new here.. i picked up one of the stoves a week and a half ago for 30% off paid $974 for the stove and like $150 for the vent kit. then 5 days later i found this site and saw that lowes was selling the same stove i just purchased at 50% off :ahhh: so my wife called out to lowes and told them what happened and they said stop in we will do a price adjustment!! thats a $400 refund they gave us!! I am very pleased with my new stove and the customer service from Lowes and just wanted to share this with all of you pellet lovers.

Yep.....Lowe's is much more customer friendly and HD! Yes, it cost them a $400 refund, but look what that made up in customer referrals!

Home depot usually puts them on sale as well. I got my englander 25 pdv for half price 2 years ago. Too bad they don't do half price pellets as well!
