Exhaust gasket material

Having a hard time finding an exhaust motor gasket for my Napoleon NPS40. My dealer doesn't stock them, he says he makes his out of gasket material because the factory ones break on him. So where to get some gasket material?

Tried the on-line automotive parts stores, and found some likely suspects -- but when I went to place orders at two different places, darn website wouldn't take my order. Humph!

I'd say the gasket is 6" circular, and 1/16" thick. If I could order 6" wide, and 20" long, I'd have enough for three. One to replace now, one in the spring, and one to screw up. My dealer uses ceramic fiber, he's almost out and doesn't know where he'll get another batch. Anyone know where I can get some?

I'll probably go with that Mr. Gasket material. It looks like the exact thing I was looking for. I'll check my NAPA store first to see if they carry it, but I'll go to VIP if I have to. They're not too swift, but now I have a part number!

Spent a little time going through McMaster's listing, but I don't know enough about the heat range to order from there. Quite expensive for anything over 400 degree rating.

Another stove shop dealer suggested I put high-temp silicone seal (in a tube) in place of a gasket. I even have some in the house, but I didn't want to go that route. I remember using it on a valve cover when I was poor and running junk cars -- what a mess!
 
Northern Burner or Redlon Johnson in Portland should both carry 500 degree plus, sheet style, cut your own gasket material. You will pay more not having a contractor account, but they'll sell to you. Maybe there is a burner/plumbing supply place where you are?

Is this the same material for the housing?
 
I got some FelPro at NAPA. It was a good deal -- $12 for a sheet big enough for six gaskets and wiggle room. It has a steel mesh core and fiber outside. Clerk said I could use tin snips and a drill on it. I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

Is this gasket for the fan or the fan housing? could they be the same material? I am tired of waiting for my dealer to deliver this to me. IT has been since thanksgiving.

Could you post the part number please. My local Napa guy just looked at me funny when I asked for it.
