Im loving my new Thelin Echo...but Ive got two questions.

#1. The stove pipe is a galvanized silver color. The install guy said it can be painted with high temp paint. He recommended the stuff at the auto parts store. Is this the right direction I should look to in getting my flat black paint that I want? Any help would be appreciated.

#2. We have an old house (1850) and would love to move the heat around with those small doorway fans that hang in the upper corners of the door frames. Does anyone have any suggestions for models/makers?

Thanks a bunch.

I would go with a paint that is specifically recommended for stoves. I don' know about fans. I just wanted to congradulate you on your new stove. The Echo is very cool! I have always liked the way Thelin operate using DC motors. No need for inverter back-up BS on a Thelin. If I was counting on the pellet stove for heat during power outages (I don't, that is my gas stove's job), it would be hard to overlook that great looking stove you have. Good luck, and try it a while before deciding you need fans.

Thanks, it heats the room very well on medium, Id like to get a couple of fans to run into other rooms. The ones at Lowes (white, triangular shaped) dont get too high of a rating for noise level.

Anyone else with ideas would be helpful.

Thanks

My pipe is painted black with stove spray paint purchase at home depot. Been standing up fine since Oct.

I sprayed some of the pipes before they were installed and sprayed others after the install with a piece of cardboard behind it.

I did my own install and had to paint the pipes. I used Rustoleum High Temp flat black from Home Depot. Same specs as stove paint from local stove dealer at 1/2 the price.
