I have went through more pellets then i planned for. Had over six tons and have less then one left. I live outside of Danbury Ct. None of my usual suppliers have pellets. Anyone know where i can get some in this area?

Also why are there shortages?

Thanks in Advance,

Gary

I feel your pain. I only bought three tons because I wasn't expecting to get my stove installed as early as I did. Got about three quarters of a ton left. I got mine from Blakelees Pellets in Middletown for 279.00 back in July, they are asking about 309-329 a ton right now depending on brand I think. Check their website, they list what they have on hand and the prices as well. I'll be looking around as well myself. If you find some good deals, post them. Good luck.

Hi Gary I have a friend that lives in Danbury and he comes to newburgh ny to get pellets. Its 45 minutes away.

F&G;Stoves 845-561-1313 $300 per ton.

YIKES!!! Well, I hope you burned that many because you are trying to heat a very large house, or you like the inside temp at about 85 degrees! LOL That is a LOT of pellets to burn, and we don't live that far apart.....pretty similar temps.

I have a 2700 sq. ft log home (log homes are NOT the most energy efficient houses around), and I have only burned a little over 3 tons, and that was with the stove running since mid-October on low, and pretty much 24/7 since the middle of Dec until last week on med-high setting.

I have about the same size house. I have two pellet stoves runing 24/7. I am going through about three bags a day. I am open to suggestions on what i could be doing wrong.

Gary,

Yes the sq ft. is simular, But that's probably about it. There are several factors you will need to look at for heat lose!

Age of the house? How many windows and window quality? How much if any insulation? Stove location? Are you useing an OAK? And so on.

Might start with some type of energy audit. Seal up the drafts in the house. Add more insulation. Several things you can do to save the heat in the house.
