I cut a big maple to day . The tree was 40" at the base . I charged the guy 1000 bucks we had to drop the thing in 8 lengths . ?It is a lot of wood three truck loads 7x12 x 4' all cut in 24" lengths and stacked in the truck . It must be 8+ cord . I will haul the branches to the land fill on Monday . 475 sound OK if they have to climb the tree .

Are you talking dropped as in notch and fell or climb and take down piece by piece? If they are climbing and taking them down piece by piece then $475/each is a deal.

I think it is the latter due to the proximity to buildings.

Holy crap! I had no idea tree services cost that much money. I was going to see how much it would cost to have a couple medium sized oaks taken down that are less than 20' from my house this spring but if it costs that much it ain't going to happen. I have a neighbor that works for an excavating company maybe I'll just have to pay him to push a these trees over for me.

I like your idea of pushing them over............hmmmmmmmm.....nah.

hehe.....

Pushing the tree over works good if you are digging any way . But the HO always gets twitchy when i hit the lawn with my track ho .

last summer 90ft willow next to power lines, $1300 complete, 40 plus year old tree, carpenter ants
were the culprits. Tried to get utility company to do it, but they would only trim out which would not resolve any windstorm issues.
