I have been having problems with the Auger on my 25-pvdc. Last night after pulling the Lower Auger, cleaning the tube and replaceing the motor. After that the Power went out, I had smoke coming from the OAK, and the two small square holes below the front shelf. I have a 6 inch vertical out to back to a Clean out tee then up for 3 feet. I would think that is enough for an up draft. Am I wrong here. Also of note, When the Auger motor failed the night before the Pellets "back burned" all the way to the bearing on the lower Auger. I am surprised it did not burn into the Upper auger and to the hopper. I guess I was Lucky.

when you pulled that auger , did you look at the gasket on the bearing block? it is a nylon or plastic gasket. if you had a burn back to the bearing as you say, there could be damage to the gasket...hence the smoke. it may look as though it coming from the oak, but in fact may be leaking by the bearing gasket. if it is bad, get hold of the parts dept at englander and order a new one( a little over 5 bucks). i just had to go thru this on my neighbors stove. hope this helps. btw, just want to let you kow that i am not a service tech on these stoves, just relaying what i recently went thru.

There was no gasket. Also the smoke was coming out the OAK, and the holes in the front
