Hello everyone:

Does anyone know if the speed of the convection blower should be based on the heating setting that is set. What I mean is if I have the stove running at 1 it should have one speed versus running it at 4 which should be higher. It seems mine is always at one speed regardless if is even at the lowest level. I also have the high fan setting off.

Please let me know, my wife complains the stove is making too much noise. I checked a friends summer' heat stove and they can control the variable speed of the fan.

Thank you

pibe, I'm having my p23i installed tomorrow and have no hands on experience with the unit as yet. However, after reading the manual, it states the blower speed varies depending on the heat setting. I take that to mean at a lower heat setting the fan will be slower. At four or five, the fan would be blowing much stronger. Have you tried using the 'high fan' button to see if the fan speed increases?

I have a Big E and I don't know if the control boards are the same . That being said , there are three settings on my control board , MANUAL, ON/OFF , HIGH/LOW. If you try to run my stove on HIGH/LOW, OR ON/OFF , it will only blow on the low setting . You must have a Stat to run my stove on HIGH/LOW , ON/OFF. If you are not using a stat you should run it on manual . That is if the control boards are the same . Good luck , Eric from Kinsman Stoves would know better then I , as he sells them , and is very knowledgeable on pellet stoves .

I have a P23 and run it on the manual setting. I do not have a thermostat conncected. The fan speed increases with the heat settings 1 - 5. The only way to increase the fan speed in any of the 1 - 5 settings is to use the high speed fan setting. Each setting you should hear the increase in the fan speed.

Hey thank for the replies.

I did check the fan speed at each heating level and I noticed the increase in fan speed. I guess the fan noise I am hearing is normal for this kind of stove.

Has anyone tried to replace the convection fan with maybe one that is quieter from some other brand or it really doesn't make a any difference?

Thank you for the feedback.

No, I did however get the updated blower for mine. I forget the new part number ( Maybe Eric will have the new part #)........but the noise is the same. To me, it isnt that noisy......but does make some noise. After awhile it just blends right in and I dont even notice.

Breckwell replaced the fan with a different fan, made by the same mfg due to issues with the orginal one that came with the stove. I purchased mine in Jan 2008. Sorry, for the life of me I cant remember the part numbers. You may want to do a search. I remember it being discussed here.

Hello
Without a (correct) thermostat the stove has to be in the manual setting. There should be a noticable change on each setting except from #4-#5. I can be reached at 330-448-0300 for questions but I tend to get busy after 11 am EST.
