Mt Vernon Combustion Fan Gasket

I just ordered one for a Whitfield and it cost $28.

I heard quad had come out with a reusable one.

The gasket sticking out from my combustion blower feel like felt material. Was yours like thick felt?

The replacement one is much better than the original, it is made of a reinforced rtv type material. It should last much much longer than the felt type one

If I was to remove mine I would use red RTV, put some wax paper on the RTV before screwing it on and it will come off next time.

I would like to know where to get the reusable one as well I'm seeing something in common with pellet stove users They like Birds I have a blue and gold tooo

I just checked the magnum website and the gasket for my blower is $8.00 So I guess I'll just order one from there

On my breckwell, the 1st time I removed the comb. blower, I found the "gasket" was no more than rope gasket. I bought the stove brand new(keep in mind the stove is of '95 vintage), so this was a factory config. I replaced the gasket with the same size AND for a little extra piece of mind, a bead of RTV on top of it. I have had no leaks and when removing for cleaning, no problems there either
I bought my rope kit @ lowes which came packaged with glue. I usually put a good bead of glue on the blower's mounting flange, wait about 15-20 mins. to tack up and then install the rope. As I type, I'm looking @ the rope kit's packaging and I do not see a # given for total length. What I can tell you is that it is 3/8'' dia. and I have cut 2 gaskets from it so far. It appears that I can get another 2 fairly easily. I can't recall the exact price, but it was somewhere in the neighborhood of $7-8 bucks. There is also ample supply of the gasket cement.
Don't know if you can utlize or if you even want to try this, but it works very well for me and I feel very secure in the knowledge that it is not leaking, especially with the RTV. I found no evidence that Breckwell had used anything other than just the rope gasket itself, so the RTV gives me a little extra peace of mind.
I hope maybe this can help you or someone who has the same concerns.

I know the burnpot gasket on my mt. vernon turned to dust when I had to move the burnpot to get the rear baffle out. It's just a fiberglass gasket. I have 3 Quad dealers in my local area and not one of them had one in stock. I love how these dealers are in no hurry to help you find parts when they aren't the one who sold or installed your stove.

I live in Batavia IL. and there is no support for my magnum pellet stove here the people that sold it to me don't sell them anymore they switched brands . I know when they still did support it they didn't get any support from the company I think that's why they switched . I took forever for them to call back about tech stuff. Now I'm on my own. It's still under warranty it has a 5 year warranty but even when the auger motor went out after a year I had to pay for it . Now it's been 4 years and it's broken again and I didn't use it for a year . So I guess I wouldn't recomend this brand.

I just worked on a stove that's been through two seasons. I knew the blower gasket was delicate so I was careful. Old one is still on there working fine. I told the homeowner he will have to replace it after he goes in there a few more times. The trick is to remove the blower and not touch the gasket. One you touch it, it disintegrates. Its good to know the new ones are better, I have not had to order one yet.
