Looking To Move Air Between Rooms?

those kind of suck (I have two), placing a box fan in the colder room blowing toward the warm area is much more effective.

I tried a 12 inch stand fan and it did not work. I think these corner fans work better because they are higher and move the warm air instead of the cool air which is lower.

I put two in my hallway to move the air down the hall. They have effectively allowed us to heat the upstairs from our downstairs BIS. My only complaint is they can be noisy.

I use ceiling fans myself, but a friend of mine had one of those that she
just took down. Becuz it is so big and bulky, her tall hubby kept
rapping his head on it constantly walking through the doorway.

We have one of these and they are helpful. We've had it for 4 seasons now, and no matter what I have done to it over the years it sure is noisy! It sounds like the fan blades aren't properly balanced or something. I've even put packing foam between the unit and the wood casing and it still makes lots of noise. It's at a point where I will not turn it on when we are at home, but will when I leave for work (after my wife has left). As soon as she hears it, she turns it off, and I don't blame her!

I'm a little confused with Kast reply. He says to place the fan in the room that is cold and direct the fan to the warmer room. Is this truely the way you should set it up if you want other rooms to be warm????

If you put a fan on the floor blowing out of the cold room you will feel the warm air blowing back in the room from the top. My bedroom is down a hallway and without this the temp is 63. With stove on the temp get to 70 in a hour.

I will have to try it that way. I have my stove downstairs and when that room gets too hot I open the interior door to my garage and get that effect. The air from the garage rushes into the room with the stove, and the warm air moves to the garage. This cools the room to 72° and the garage warms up helping the rooms above.

Didn't like the noise of the fan so installed a fan control to slow down the speed now hardly notice the noise.

That fan is so loud it sounds like an Cessna taking off.
Try one of these, not pretty looking, but does the job.

Yes, always blow cold air to the heat source. That way you set up a convection current in your house.

Stand fans work differently than box fans if you look at the blade config. Box fans pull air from directly behind them while stand fans have blades that gather air from the sides of the fan and just push the air ahead.
