Anyone tried these pellets? They are listed as located in York Pa. I could not find any details or reviews on this pellet.

Any information would be helpful.

THANKS!

I could not find much on the iNet about these either. Only the location of the plant. Where did you find out about them? Did you see them in a store?

All I can say is that I have heard that name before. Nothing on quality.

I drove by the plant one day while doing snow removal. I knew the area well but just noticed this winter it was turned from a pallet business to a pellet business. I talked to my stove dealer about it. They never tried their pellets but considered doing so since it was close to their shop. I thought for sure someone on here may have heard of them. I think they're fairly new.

I might try some if they sell them directly from the plant or in a nearby HD. The plant is about 45 minutes from me and about 10 minutes from my brother that lives in Dover. I am heading up to the Hostpital in York today after work, I might see if I can pick a few bags up. I need a few more bags of pellets to finish out the season anyway.

Let me know if you were able to purchase a few bags and how they burn. I never seen any in the box stores in Mech.....infact, I never even heard of this brand until I drove by. I wonder if they're grinding pallets to make pellets?

I may call them today if my schedule allows. I'm at least 30 mins away. If they do sell to the public, I may have to give these a try.

I had the same thought. If their strictly from pallets then I won't expect to much out of them. I am only guessing that if they are using pallets as a source that they would be older weathered pallets. I would think (IMO) that the wood on weathered pallets becaomes coarse and and may absorb many dirt and debri particles. I would think that this dirt would make it into the pellets. Thus, leaving much unknown residue in our burn pots.

Wheather I am right or wrong about that, I would try a few bags since their local.

Just got off the phone with them. They do sell retail but do not deliver. They're manufactured there and do not sell to any big box stores. Their a hard wood pellet made from sawdust. All hardwood. no bark. The pellets do not have the PFI label on or any ash % rating. They just said very low ash. Said they havent had any complants.

They're 270.00 a ton. Cash and carry. Max bag purchase is 15 @ 5.50 per 40# bag. ($5.00 cheaper by the ton.) I should have asked if they gave additional discounts if X amount of tons were purchased.......

No early buy option as well. This is their second season in business. May have to give them a try!

Thanks for the information Marster!

Tunred out that I didn't get up to York yesterday like I thought. Given what you just posted (no PFI rating) I would definately try several bags before a bulk purchase. I just picked up a few bags of Penningtons today. I have not try those yet either.

You're welcome!

I think too, just buying a few bags to see how they're. I'm not real thrilled with the price per ton, but I enjoy trying different pellets and love having more options.

Let me know if you grab a few bags.
