More Chain Confusion

Anyone know if the S62 is the same as the S62 (91 low profile)?
Would like a chain that fits my saw, but I can't come up with 100% determination if there is anything else that will fit my saw.
Not too many dealers around, and the one that does just frowned on me with my current saw....(Not a Stihl/Dolmar, etc)
Would like to find a few chains on line....but just want to be certain they fit.

what size chain you running now?

Oregon emailed me back saying that the 91LX062G will work, but when I check the site it states that this chain is made for slf sharpening saws....mine is not...40''CC Craftsman, but it does the job.

never heard of "self sharpening" unless i sharpen it myself lol should work fine

The box store stuff is 91vg. You're looking for 91VX online. Or a rarer variant is the 91VS. Amick's, Bailey's and ASC Auto Parts on ebay all have good prices. If you want to get Bailey's Woodsman Pro-Carlton rebadged-that is 30LP. If you are inclined to visit the local Stihl dealer you are looking for PMC3. Occasionally you'll find it on ebay. Any of these chains are a huge upgrade over 91vg. Wherever you decide to get chain, make sure you order with 62 drive links. That is what the S62 is refering to. Just like if you were to move to a 16" bar, you'd be running S56 from the big box store.

91LX will work on your saw but it has a funky cutter configuration and was used in the 80s for a few saws that were marketed that had a stone in the clutch cover that would sharpen the chain while it ran. That was the theory anyway.
