Here are the choices available so far for me, I need 3 tons:

1.Barefoot: $259/ton but I need to pick them up 45 miles away (I don't have a truck, so need to rent). For this option I'd need to rent a big van at HD and make 2 trips in a rush the same day, that means 180 miles for the 2 trips and I'd need to rush and place bags in the driveway quickly so I can make my 2nd trip and lastly to return van to HD the same day. Day rental is $70 plus taxes, plus gas.

2.Lignetics: $280/ton, delivery charge to my house is around $100 for 3 tons I think.

3. Greene Team Gold Premium Plus: $275/ton, delivery to my house for 3 tons about $55 (dealer about 13 miles from me). Never tried this brand but dealer offered me 3 bags to try on my Englander 25-PDV, he said my stove will love this premium pellet, I will try a bag or two hopefully soon and see.

4. NEWP: $285/ton right now but the lady told me the early buy will be ready in about 2 weeks and that their prices are usually lower than competitors, she "expects" this price to be lower in 2 weeks. Delivery charge to my house is $100 for 3 tons.

What do you think?

..

I would go with 2 or 3 depending how #3 burns in your stove
Barefoots.....To much driving and may not have enough time
Newp....The Lady THINKS the price will go down...I wouldn't buy into that comment....

Lignetics always works for me.....

I just bought Barefoot at $279/ton so I'd say that's a great deal considering their reputation. Where's the location? I too picked up, but own my own truck and I can haul up to 3 tons if I have to.

I've heard good things about the other three as well, especially Green Team. If you can't find an easier way to get the Barefoot, this sounds like a good 2nd choice.

thanks, let's see if someone that has tried the Greene Team can chime in a bit and post their experience as well...

I've heard good things about them on here.....

called the Greene Team company and the lady said that Greene Team Gold Premium Plus is the same brand that Lowes sells, it is just the bags at Lowes are white whereas this "Gold" one is sort of light brown...

Pelletsdirect.com offers some of these pellets (Lignetics anyways) and they will do a neighborhood delivery so you split the cost for delivery, quoted within 1 mile but you could have them dropped off in one location. I am walking the neighborhod looking for pellet users. I know of 2 anyways so this may be an alternate choice for you. They just quoted me 70.00 delivery charge for 3 tons which I think is very reasonable. Not sure what the distance is for you but you can inquire online and they'll send you a quote.

Good Luck

Pelletsdirect has both barefoot/lignetics for $279/$289, deliv. charge of $125 to Naugatuck

EDIT: found another place with NEWP for $272 plus $70 delivery charge.
