That's a good price for the Barefoots. Best I can do here is $289/ton. They are also to far for me to travel et around 75 miles.

jay, there's a dealer in the NY border (around 45 miles to me in Naugatuck) that was selling barefoot for $259 but the buyer needs to pickup.

fortunately for me thats the next town over from me, and is where i buy my pellets. i was surprised a few weeks ago when i saw the price so "low" I bought 2 tons this past winter from them at $299. they also stock NEWP and Corinth

Hey CJ, how do the Barefoot's compare to the Lignetics?

I found that Green Team burns hotter than Lignetics and Jay found that the Barefoot's burn 20* hotter than the Green Teams.

That means the Barefoot's must burn a whole lot hotter than the Lignetics.

What's your experience?

Thanks,

FG.

I have found they burn about the same temperature wise. Slightly fluffier ash than the Ligs. The Barefoots burn quicker though, b/c they are smaller both in diameter and length, so the feed rate needs to be turned down to get equal heat output. That doesn't mean they last longer though... more pellets are fed at the lower rate. I get similar output temps when the stove is set to burn a bag every 24 hrs. They both have very minimal fines in the bag. All things equal, I would get Lignetics. But Ligs are 45 minutes away and $40 per ton more, So I'll be going with Barefoots at 15 minutes away.

CJ, I see you're in Barre, MA.
I saw a pellet brand called Napco made in that city, have you seen this before?

yes, i know of them. we're hardly a city, lol. A small rural town of 5000. From what I know, they are a rebagging facility. I don't know where they originally come from. I tried several times to buy some last year, but they were sold out the entire year. I was able to buy a bag from the grocery store though. 100% hardwood. Seemed to burn ok, but one bag isn't really enough to pass judgement. At $7.50 per bag at the grocery store, I wasn't going to be buying more than the one bag.

I also have in my town Higgins Energy Alternatives, aka the most expensive stove shop around. They have a fantastic selection though. They sell wood, gas, pellet stoves, as well as pellets.

Cj I called napco yesterday just to check on pricing and they said the first week of may they will know there prices Ive burnt a few bags this past season and they were good ,but I believe your right about them just rebagging so who knows where the pellets are coming from this year,he also said you can buy tonnage at there facility, worth looking into.

I took pics of the Napco brand, these pellets are veru light conpared to the Greene Team and the Quality One, I will post a pic in a few.........
