Hey everyone, now that burning season is officially over and I have shut the stove down for the season,
Ive decided to give the leafblower trick a go.

ONE PROBLEM....my blowers tube is way larger than the 3inch vent pipe. I gave it a shot anyway, but it did not
seem to do much. Any suggestions?
thanks everyone!

Mine is blower tube is bigger also. I ended wrapping a towel around the pipe and slide the blower tube over that. It gave it a better seal. Or you can duct tape it so you get better suction. It's all about getting the best seal and suction.

I duct taped a PVC elbow on mine. I remove the termination cap and the elbow fits nice and snug, then let her rip,
My neighbor and father in law got a big kick out of it!

I found a piece of pvc pipe that fit tight into the leaf blower and then a piece of single wall stove pipe that fits into that. All held together with duct tape.

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8342676 That is the one I got from Walmart. I attached the vacuum tube that came with it and slid it on the exhaust of the stove but there is one important thing I learned, it was working good but it wasn't pulling the ash like I thought it would so I removed the blower portion of the blower that is used for blowing leafs and walahhh it blew a stream of ash 25 ft in the air and it cleaned the inside of the stove as well. I could not be more happy.

When using the leaf blower cleaning technique, stove door open or closed?

I had mine closed but had the fresh air open a little.
