Dust in the area where stove is installed

I noticed even with my OAK I still get dust, and other airborne materials that are drawn to the room where my stove is

I get the same thing, and I also have an Oak. I beleive its the dust from filling the stove. I don't vacuum my Pellets and I just dump them in. When I do, I can see the Pellet dust flying around. I can reduce it if I pour them in slowly/gently, but I don't have the paitence to do that too often. Drives the cleaning lady, er Wife crazy.

What color is the dust (normal greyish, tanish, or blackish)?

I have noticed a little more dust in the room also, but when I wipe the dust with a white cloth, the dust appears to be darker than normal. I think my dust might be from when I clean the stove. Some ash always seems to rise a float in the air. I think my dust is part really, really fine ash.

Your correct. Most of the dust is brownish, but some is also from when I clean the stove. If I use a brush rather then vacuum I get more dust in the area.

I bought a small permanent type HEPA filter air cleaner last year and placed it so that the clean air was blowing behind the stove towered the air intake, It made a big difference in the amount of dust in the room.

I get the same thing. I believe its dust that comes when you open the stove door when it is hot. You should only open the door when necessary, and when the stove is cool. The dust is so fine you may also get some passing through your vac. even with a hepa filter. The solution to that is get a very long hose and always have your vac outside when cleaning the stove.
