Hey everyone,

just thought I'd throw this out to the other pellet burners in my area. The guy who advertises the Pot-O-Gold pellets on eBay finally got back to me.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...I+C+P+S+IA&itu=FICS+UFI+UA+IA+UCI&otn=4&ps=10

He is interested in doing a truckload deal to our area. Here's what he wrote in his email to me:

"Good evening; Sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner..Would you be able to co-op a full truck load of material with friends or relatives in the area. That would be the best rate for freight..Do you have a good daytime contact. Thanks for your time."

I wrote back to him and asked 2 things:

1. What would the freight charge be to our area (I used Newburgh as a reference point)?

2. I mentioned the scams going on that resulted in people paying for pellets in advance, but never receiving them.....I asked him if he would do a COD-type deal with us if we can guarantee we have the whole truckload sold.

I would normally be leery of buying pellets that I've never burned, but in a post awhile ago, Eric at kinsman vouched for these pellets as being good (if they have been stored inside). And $212 is as good a deal on pellets as your going to see, as long as the freight isn't a killer.

Let me know what you think....I'll post back with his response as soon as i get it.

I contacted this guy about 3-4 weeks ago about puchasing a trailer truck load, he did give me a price. I told him I would like to purchase some to try prior to buying a quanity, he agreed. The last time I talked to him was this morning, still trying to get to his place of business to pick them up but he has always has a reason why we can't meet to conduct business. He now wants to ship them to me which is not going to happen. My gut is telling me not to give any money to him until I have the pellets. We are suppose to talk again on Monday.

I burned these last year for $230.00 a ton...My dealer had 4 ton left which I just paid $300.00 a ton for. He had cheaper pellets but I bought these as they did well for me. You won't be disappointed.

Macman,

Keep us informed on this. I'm in NJ but just over the state line and would be interested.

I got a call from the guy this morning. He has two locations (one in Peru, NY and one in Chateaugay, NY). I live about 30 miles from Peru and he said it would be about $255/ton delivered. I didn't get into discussing paying when he delivered or anything like that. Once I heard the price I wasn't as interested so I just said I will get in touch with him later if I am interested.

Just got a return email from him.....this is what he said:

"Good morning; We would be interested in looking into your program. Yes we could work something out in regards to the COD. Yes I've seen that too that some folks were stung in regards of not getting any material. Do you have a good daytime contact? We would have a few more questions for you..Thanks again for your time.."

I will send him my cell phone #, but he still has not given me any indication of what the shipping costs will be, even after telling him my location in the last email. Hmmmmm........

I'll report back when I have more info.

UPDATE: Just received a call from the guy (Bob), and he will do a COD. He has initially stated a price of $255-260/ton delivered to the Newburgh area, but we do need a drop off point (loading dock). He said he had to get the "final" price to me in a day or two. Those numbers work out to a shipping price of approx. $43/ton.

Jambruins, it's interesting that the price he quoted per ton to you was the same as to me.....and I'm 260 miles away from Chazy. Were you asking him for a truckload, or just a few tons?

OK, now at those quoted prices, who is interested? Remember, we have to commit to 22 tons. Oh, and he confirmed that these have been stored indoors only. Personally, at $255 a ton, it's cheaper for me to burn HHO. But if enough people want to go for it, I'll be the "middleman"...let me know.

I told him I would want between 3-10 tons depending on how many tons family members wanted. That is interesting that the delivery price would be the same for Newburgh as Chazy. I think I am going to wait a month or two and call him again and see what the price is. If the price is right I would buy it from him as long as I could pay upon delivery.

$255 per ton for a truckload plus you have to supply a loading dock and then distribute the pellets from there?!?!?! That price sounds pretty high to me...

PacMan, call me. Number sent PM.

Eric

Just got a call from Eric at Kinsman stoves after he saw the post, and he will ship a truckload of ProPellets to us here for a cheaper price than the guy from Northern NY that I mentioned above (It seems that the truckers in his area are desperate for work, and are lowering their rates before fuel goes back up a lot).

PM me for the $$ he's quoted me.

Pete

Have you guys determined where the drop off/pick up will be? That would be a determining factor, but I might be interested in a ton or 2.

Mulholland Enterprises LLC 518-893-2165 are routinely shipping tractor trailers loads of 24 ton of either New England Wood Pellets or Michigan Wood Pellets. They are located 30 miles north of Albany, NY. Their zip code is 12833. Depending how on far you are located from them and on whether you provide a fork lift or they bring theirs, prices can range from starting at $227 per ton and upwards.

That's a real good price for pellets in NYS, and I have burned a lot of NEWP...good pellet, IMO.
