My dad picked up a job finishing a lot clearing that the original tree service abandoned. Unfortunately the landowner got fed up with the mess he left and pushed it all into big piles. They're all mixed up with full trees, limbs, stumps and DIRT. But heck we're gettin paid to clear it all and gonna end up with a good amount of wood when we're done. I may even get the stump job if the guy doesn't come back!

Anyways, here's the haul from yesterday and today. It's 90% white and red oak with some sassyfrass mixed in.

We probably have two more trailer loads of small stuff then the big stuff will be pulled out from under the piles.

OH!! he also asked us to cut down a 70-80ft ash and another red oak. He has about 30 more dead standin oaks that he said he'd call to have us take down in the future too!!! :)

Excellent!!!!

I got to work on the main log pile yesterday and my dad helped finish it off today. One more small pile to go! And of course there's more logs to haul from the lot. We just got back from haulin 5 big pines.

Nice work! How many cords do you think you'll end up with from this haul?

lookin like right around 2 cords. We'll see in a bit. Im headed out back to split some more in a few minutes.

Got 90% of it split and stacked.. Still have the trailer full of small logs to get bucked and split. My goal for this stack was to make it to the large oak on the far end and im about 20-30 splits shy of fillin the gap. Almost there!!!! Half of it I split with an axe and other half was done with the splitter.
