my neighbors hate my wood in the back yard call the town to complain about anything....and i only have about 6 total cords now
everything has to be pretty

My home owner's assoc and architural review board said that I need to find a way to hide them or move them.

I laughed at them and said have a good evening

4 of the 5 don't even live here they just own lots and they want to tell me what to do on my land. They picked the wrong night to stop by

Good looking stacks!

One of the many reasons I could never be part of a home owners association.

Nice work. Those are some big homes in your neighborhood, what do your neighbors think of your stacks?

They hate them!!!
I have had a vistit from the president of my home owner's assoc. I told him where to go with it and he has not been back. I only have 3 neighbor's in direct contact with me and they are all cool.

I have a nice mix of Yuppies that think my neighbor hood is a country bevery hills and then there and people who like me build my own home and enjoy the quiet. So it get's very interesting

Plus I am 29 and way younger than any one else in my neighbor hood so I get talked about anyway. Used to bother me now I like messin with them send the wife out in her bikini to mow the lawn. I have told all of them who ask a different age and profession just for fun

You nasty man! I have to admit, I do like your style!

What on earth could be wrong with a stack of firewood in a yard? Now if it weren't stacked neatly, perhaps they could gripe but yours is very nice indeed...and practical.

Well the first problem they had was that I had wood on communty property. All of my neighbor's have something or another on the community property so I figured why mess up my lawn everyone else is doing it. So while I was splitting it and throwing it into stacks they asked very nicely if I could move it onto my property so I took the high road and said sure. Now they just don't like the look of it. One guy told me to move it into my garage. I responded with I am not movin
any of it, It's my property and if I feel like putting in a sand vollyball court and having a keg every weekend I will.

I wish you the best of luck with your HOA. Could be a losing fight for you depending on what's in the home owners association contract you signed up for when you bought your property.

That's just the thing there is nothing in the covance but they say that the Architural review group can make changes as they go. I told the guy that said that I think your house is a eye sore move it. I have spoken to my friends who is an attorney and faxed him all the stuff from the Hoa and he says they don't have a leg to stand on.

The minimum sqft you can build in my subdivisionis 2200 and the head of the architural review lives in the smallest house that looks like crap and he wants to tell me. None of the 5 have any experience building they could not even read a blueprint. This is going to get very interesting

I hear you regarding the HOA. I do some work for a HOA and at least 1/2 of the people in that community are constantly at odds with each other. It's amazing how miserable so many of them are...

I'll tell ya, if it were me I would tread more lightly. My HOA complained about my two propane tanks while they were on their way into my basement less than 24 hours after they were delivered. I took it rather seriously because I plan to live in my home for many years and I don't want any beef with any of my neighbors.

Aside from the legal issues you may have already covered keep in mind that if your HOA wants to make your life miserable, they will.

You'll lose. The HOA will have some sort of blanket clause that likely does give them supreme power to tell you where to put your wood. They might have to vote for it but if a majority of the folks dislike your wood then you lose. Welcome to mini government, they can fine you, send you to collections, lean your house, and even foreclose to collect those fines. You gave up your property rights when you signed on for an HOA, I hate them. I wish you luck, you may be campaigning for votes.

One of the few things that they can't force you to change is to remove a outdoor aerial television antennae from your home. You can get your revenge that way.

We will see
Most of them don't even live in the sub division they just own land and decided they had time to be on the board.
Most of my neighbor's have wood piles to some extent nothing like mine but most have a face cord on their property.
I plan on living in this home for a long time and if they actually lived in my subdivision I would tread a little lighter but my direct neighbor's and most I have spoken to hate these group of guys. Now they messed with me and the president of the Hoa has my back as he also does not like the guys running the review board. If one of them cames up to me and calls me junior again I am going to tell him a few things about addressing me in a professional mannor.

Good lord, that's why I avoid HOAs at all costs. I understand the point of an HOA, but 90% of the time it is just used as an excuse to try to piss people off by neighbors that have too much free time. I work from home and spend a lot of time on my property and I don't want my time to be filled with me b!tchin' and moaning about the HOA and my dumb@ss neighbors trying to control what goes on around my house.

Good luck. I hope everything gets resolved easily.

+1 wouldnt even want to think about it................

I am not going to worry about it.
I think they expected for me to just lay down like the rest if my neighbor's but that will not happen with me.
I will build a shed or a tree berm but only after I have fought the good fight and I am on the ground bleeding.
