Good luck and make sure you let us know the results.

Don't know about the Craig part but admitting to knowing me is probably a good guarantee of unemployment. :grrr:

I start training on Monday in the Hearth department. They also sell pools and hot tubs and would like to see me cross trained for it. I'll be in both sales and service which is fine because I like to get out and get my hands dirty than sit around a desk all day. I'm a little nervous but excited at the same time, I think it will be fun once I know what I'm doing. Thanks to all for helping me learn so much over the years. Here is the store. http://www.eauclairehearth.com/

congrats sooty todd! may your boots leave no trail (on white carpet).

Woohoo. I can see it now. Before long a big Country Flame BBF (I know BB means big bad, gotta guess what the F is for  ) steel cat stove will be in the Sooty Todd house.

Congrats my friend. Glad somebody actually gets paid for this stuff.

Good fer you, Sooty Todd! My sister lives in Eau Claire...don't sell anything to her. Rick

Congrats. First thing to do is have them fix their website where it describes the "how-it-works" for the BBF cat stove and then shows how a non-cat stove works!

I'm a hot tub guy myself and would be more into that scene except the online tubbing sites seem to be a bunch of girlymen.

Now about that discount....

Yeah, I'm pretty happy, I was just about out of unemployment benefits. I asked the owner if he knew of this site and he didn't, so I'll turn him on to it and maybe some day he will give hearth.com discounts? There's a lot of cool stuff in that store, I'll probably spend more money there than I make. They have that BBF hooked up as one of the burning floor models, I'll have fun with that beast.

Congratulations, Todd !!!!

Very nice news.

Congrats! Way to be.

Congrats! Good luck!

I'm happy for you, Todd. I hope it works out great. Looking at your info in your Avatar space, I figured you were trying to get a job in Hayward. Does Eau Claire even count as north? <G>

Looking at their website, it looks like your first job will be to help the owner increase his line up. Looks like he could also use Jotul. Hearthstone, Scan, PE, Morso, RAIS, Regency, Avalon, Dutchwest, etc., etc. ;-)

Lotta good suggestions here. But let them teach you. Don't try to teach them. They are the ones fronting the bucks for the store, inventory and your paycheck. And they have been doing it for a while.

Learn from them Grasshopper.

Thanks, anything north of hwy10 is considered north to me anyways. I'm a little ways north of Eau Claire, wish I did live up by Hayward, beautiful up there. I'll lay low for awhile and just learn the ropes before I make any big suggestions. The store use to be really geared towards pools and have only been in the Hearth biz a few years, they just remodeled the whole place to fit hearth products, it's very cool. You forgot Blaze King! ;-)

Blaze KIng was in the etc., etc. ;-)

Hayward is were I would live if I could but I'd probably have to get divorced first.

Congrats! Good luck with the new job!

Todd, from the looks of your organized home, hearth, woodshed, & reading your posts, etc... It seems like you pretty much got all your ducks in a row. It was your new employers lucky day also. You will be a benefit to the hearth industry due to your attention to detail from this forum and your wood burning experience alone. Also due to the commonsense you have, it will help you learn quickly to settle in and enjoy your new job. Good luck and Cheers to you.

Congratulations! Good seeing someone getting a job instead of hearing about someone losing one. Good going!
