I got a good start on some trees that were blown down in the spring like summer storms we have been having. My uncle has 42 acres with trees down everywhere :coolsmile: I am actually cutting for my Grandpa who has an outdoor boiler, this is a never ending job! Thought you might enjoy the pics.

I think I can get about 2 cords per trip. We got rained out on Saturday, only got about half a cord on there. :down: I usually have a 10' single axle in tote, but my uncle lives about 35 miles from me, so I thought this would be much better. It cost me $40 in fuel for a round trip pulling that thing! Next time it will be a full load.

Cripes, 3$ fuel makes almost 14 gallons out of 40$. 70 miles for 14 gallons is only like 5 miles per gallon

You've got to put sideboards on that trailer to safely carry 2 cords of rounds.

When I first traded for my '99 7.3L last fall, I checked the fuel mileage and was getting about 10mpg. I was disappointed to say the least. I changed the fuel filter and ran some injector cleaner through it and now I'm averaging around 13 to 14 mpg. I don't really know what to expect but it is hard for me to believe some of the fuel economy numbers that I hear others report. However, I do realize that I have a number of factors working against me (dually, flatbed, 4WD, 4.10 gears, automatic transmission, etc.).
Fuel down here is currently $2.50, I did a bit more running on that fuel but not much. I get about 11 mpg around town, I don't expect it to any better than that , it weighs 10,000 lbs., it's 4x4 and I can't keep my foot out of it! :cheese: I planned to get alot more wood that day but we got rained out.
