From 8-26-09 till 9-30-09.

I purchased a ton of Greenteam for $269-$25off=$244 out the door.

The sale is as follows

50-99 bags $25 off
100-149 bags $50 off
150-199 bags $100 off
200-249 bags $150 off

My neighbor is getting 4 tons delivered. Total is $991 delivered.

At $244 a ton, that is less then what we paid last year.

The coupon might work. They have to ring in the pellets as a seperate sale. My other purchase was a higher amount so I used the 10% off on that order.

The lowes in Epping has green team and I think nature's heat. I went with green team.

Just checked Lowes in Rochester. They have Green Team. Where do you get the 10% coupon?

Coupon is at the post office. Get the movers pack, its inside. I called epping and they said they had Natures own,Haverhill, had no green team. I was going to go with the HD,but my friends told me green team were better.Have to call Epping:)

Thanks:)

If any of you are military, active or retired, ask you local Home Depot or Lowes if they give a military discount. My local Lowes does all the time, as do 2 of the three local Home Depots.

My sister is getting a pellet stove and we got 2 pallets (100 bags) at Home Depot last night for her - with our military discount she paid $473. I don't know how the associate came up with that price, as we figured it should have cost her $493.20. The Home Depot bags were not sealing properly and a few popped open at the corner, so she got an extra 5 bags on the first batch we picked up.

seems a bit confusing.
4 tons = 200 bags
200 bags = $150 off
price is $269.00/ton X 4 tons = $1076.00
$1076.00 - $150 = $926 / 4 tons = $231.00/ton plus delivery.
sounds good if this is the case.

Sign up for a credit card and they will give you an additional 10% off, HD and TSC does this as well. Even if you have the cash, get the card pay it off and cancel it so you can get one for the next deal that comes around.

Word of caution here ~ canceling the card WILL affect you credit rating. Just keep the card open and don't use it.

Canceling the card will not affect your credit rating that bad since the card is so new. If you cancel an established card that you have used for years that is where you come into issues.

The only way I see this hurting your rating is part of your rating is calculated by your total credit between all cards and your total reported balances. Borrowing limit vs amount borrowed. So your borrowing limit would go down by whatever your credit line was.

I see keeping a credit card open and not using it a larger liability due to the possibility of identity theft.

Obviously just my opinion based on the last 5 years or so working analyzing credit reports/individuals credit worthiness.

I just bought 3 tons today and got the 100 off. They wouldnt take the military discount, but worth a try. I also had a $25 dollar coupon that they sen't me in the mail and they took that. It had expired by a day, so I was surprised they were willing to take it.

Anytime you can get a great pellet at a decent price you take it. Those green team pellets are awesome. Enjoy the upcoming winter.

Or a decent pellet at a great price!! Same thing, only different.... ;-)

No sale in Newark, DE they want $299 at Lowes an HD. :ahhh:
I paid $239 a ton last year and it looks like oil this year, can't afford to buy pellets at $299 a ton and they won't discount if you buy by the ton.

If anybody knows of a good place in upper Delaware let me know.

update:
Just called another Lowes and they are running the special, May pick up 5 tons using my Brothers 10% discount. :)

I would wait a week or two. Oil prices are low and they will have to lower prices.

I didn't read all the way to the bottom of your post. Glad to hear you are getting the discount.

I inquired at our local Lowes. They told me I could use the coupon with the sale they have going on. BUT....in order to get the discount for matching a competitor the pellets have to be the exact same pellet(brand). How convenient...you very rarely if ever see those two stores have the same exact brand. lol. Also....at least in my area because my son went through it recently....in order to get the moving packet you have to do it online and it cost him a dollar and they send it to you.

That's a bunch of CR*P!

For that matter, you almost never see the same brands in the SAME store 2 times in a row. My HD locally here has had 5 different brands of pellets since last Nov., and the Lowes has had 4.

I live in Southern Maine too and got them to accept HD's sale. Regardless the Lowe's (Maine Choice) in Windham is now running the same sale as HD (Energex). I bought 5 tons of the Maine Choice from Lowe's for the HD price, they came out to $242/ton delivered.

Just checked a couple of HD and Lowes stores since reading this topic. One lowes store has Greene Team. All stores have them for $298/ton with $100 discount on 3, $150 on 4 and $200 on 5 tons. $65 per delivery with no limit. I would only need 4 and that would put them at around $276 a ton delivered. Is this a good deal?

Don't know about a sale. The Lowes here still has the deal, no signs stating sale or short term price. After discount, ton price is $204 plus tax. Just picked up American Wood Fiber and Presto by Lignetics.

I just Purchased 4 Tons of "Pres-to-Logs" Pellets from lowes. They cost me $264/ton delivered. Does anyone know if the pres-to-logs pellets are as good as lignetics? They are made by the same company.
