Hi -

New stove owner of a Jotul Winterport 350 which seems to be working well but I am struggling to find a small enough temperature gauge for it.

I want to make sure I have a proper fire temp. not too low or too hot but I can not find a small enough gauge that I can place on the insert.

What have folks used?
Where do you place it, I assume the door (just outside of the glass window) and not the surround.?.?

Help

Thanks

I have never used a temperature gauge before on my year old Jotul Winterport 350, I started with several small fires and worked my way up until the blower started clicking in. I did the same with my brand new Jotul Rockland 550 last night.

The first fire in the Rockland 550 was small but lasted a few hours and the blower never came on. Tonight I am going to light it again and try to get it a bit hotter, again keeping the heat low enough to prevent the blower from kicking in.

I also lit my the Winterport 350 and the blower was cranking for hours bringing the temperature of the room up around 10 degrees.

It wasn't very cold out, just a slight nip in the air but I wanted to break in the 550 and I started the 350 for a little warmth and fireplace charm.

Good Luck
