I too saw the new Optimizer at the Empire Farm Show. It was a good looking unit, well built. I watched the video and it looked very impressive. I liked the fact that it contained a full refractory gasification nozzle instead of the steel chamber in the Central Boiler units. If I were looking at buying a outdoor unit and did not already own an Econoburn boiler I think I would consider the Portage & Main boiler. The one thing I did not like was the over aggressive attitude of the Portage & Main Factory Rep. My friends and I were a bit upset when the rep kept hounding us about looking at his boiler. I told him that I already have a gasification boiler and he kept pushing me to look at the Optimizer more than I had already looked. Look pal , I already own a gasification boiler, they all work basically the same way. Why would I want to look at his boiler if I already own a gasification boiler? I bet this guy offends more people than he makes sales. Other sales people in the area asked if we were interested in looking at the boiler and we told them we already had one, they let us walk past, but this guy was unrelenting.

As a sales man myself, I just have an observation. He may have been aggressive, but you did look at his boiler and you then posted this topic and said you'de consider his boiler if you were in the market for one. You also mentioned that you walked by alot of other sales people whom you told you already had a boiler and they let you pass without looking but you never gave them any "Free" advertising as you did with P&M;. I'd give that sales rep a pat on the back for 1. Being passionate & aggressive about his product, 2. He now has a "3rd" party source endorsing his product on a well known web site, 3. You've knocked the competition (CB) without him saying it.

Again, this has nothing to do with heating, I train sales reps and love the power of observation.

Has anyone seen this unit in operation? From what I can find so far, from the limited info, this is the cats meow of an outside gasifer type unit. Any thoughts?
