Closing off fireplace

I have a brick fireplace with an insert. I have been contemplating closing it off and installing a freestanding stove. I'm not sure how I would connect the liner to the stove and how I would be able to clean the liner and remove the fines after cleaning. My flue tiles are 6x11, any suggestions or thoughts.

Either go up and then elbow into the existing chimney through a thimble above the fireplace somehwere , or elbow off stove, horizontal to a T, then straight up the old chimney.
Unless you want to close off fireplace and just run the new pipe straight up. Might need a liner either of the first two ways due to the old flue tile dimensions.

I don't think there is any way to get a tee in there. The liner for the insert is tight fit with no insulation wrap. You could put the tee on before you brick off the fireplace, thats about it.

I misunderstood. I thought you were pulling the insert out of the old fireplace. Or are you mistaking the insert for a zero clearance fireplace?
If it is truly an insert inside a fireplace, I would remove the insert and set the stove in the old fireplace fire box, or in front of it on the hearth and tie into the liner if it is the correct type liner.
