Some members have asked me to post pictures of our Lopi Leyden which is installed in front of an existing fireplace with a sheet metal plate to cover the fireplace opening.

Ranger,

That looks really, really great. I'm not sure why it seems so right. It's so unpretentious. It looks very content there.

Have a great burning this winter!

I like it. Looks great Ranger. My buddy at work has a setup like yours and his works very well. If it works half as good as it looks, Ranger, you'll be very warm in the future!

Very nice setup!
That second picture looks like it should be in a brochure.

I really like this. I'm curious though why it was installed this way. Would it not fit in the fireplace? Or, do you just like the way it looks outside the fireplace?

Looks very nice set up that way.... Personally I ran an insert to save on space, for me it looks good.... doesnt hold as many pellets as free standing but it gives me more floor space in the room...

nice job looks great

for me (breckwell free standing into fireplace opening) it was a money saver (I never see inserts used..) and mine sits on a raised hearth. I do like the access factor to the free standing unit vs pulling out the inserts to clean. I need to figure out the sheet metal action to fabricate my cover.

actually this install was only "temporary" until the housing market turns around so we can find something smaller.. we are now on year two. Any more temporary and there will be a second install in the basement
