We have burned for the past 4 days. Set on low just to take the chill off. The temps have been in the upper 40s to mid 50s. We can tolerate that, but when it is mixed with 20-25 mph wind and rain its nice to see the fire glowing and getting the heat from it.

I've burned a couple of bags when it got cool for a few nights. I replaced my ignitor so was anxious to see if everything is working. So far so good.

It has been getting in the 40's @ night for the last two weeks so I have been playing with the thermostate settings for my qaud. mount vernon AE. Running on Auto mode with Hardword as the fuel source it is working, keeing the heat @ the hold temp. It also seems to be using less pellets, which is what that setting is aiming to do. I Had to start the floor fans, push cold air out of the bedrooms, second floor, today as their getting cool.

I have also found that changing the window and door insulation each year makes a huge difference and cost very little!

Absolutely. It's been cold in my place in the mornings. My Mt. Vernon AE runs for a few hours until it reaches 72 degrees. I set the temp back to 69 at 9 AM and it doesn't run the rest of the day. I have it running on Medium output for now. When it gets truly cold, we'll run at 73-74 on medium high. With these settings it heats a large portion of my house very well.

Every morning and every evening, for an hour - on low during days if we're home.

I just bought a new Mt. Vernon AE and am awaiting installation. As soon as it is in I plan to fire it up. I've never owned a pellet stove so I'm looking forward to it!

45* this morning and 36* predicted tonight with a high of 55 all weekend....still burning propane for now but will probably have a fire while in the house evenings.

Oct 9th first burn this fall...gotta burn off the storage oils...just wondering if anyone has tried gun oil for cleaning the and prepping the stove for the off season? I used Rust Check but was only moderately satisfied...still surface rust appeared over the summer.

Have been burning the stove each night for about 2 hours each night to take chill out of house. Fired up the boiler yesterday. Suppose to be in the 20's overnight for the next 3 to 4 days. Chance of FLURRIES  . Way too early for that. Could wait until the middle of November, not October.
