Neighbor Having Ash Tree's Cut(Update 12/5)

My wife sent me an e-mail to let me know the neighbors had a tree service at their house.(pretty impressed by that) They have a bunch a dead ash tree's along their house that I've been looking at for a while. Well I told my wife to ask them what they were doing with the wood and this is the e-mail she sent me back.

"Just talked to him. He's having around 30 ash cut down. He said they're all dead and he wanted to get them down before winter to ensure none of them fell on the house or garage. He said that he had already talked to Gene(he's another neighbor) about taking the wood, so I told him that since he already talked to Gene that if he wanted and could use all of it then to not worry about us, but that if Gene didn't want it all and there was some left over that we'd be happy to help him get rid of it. It's being cut in 2-ft lengths, so if there's some left you'll just have to go pick it up.
Apparently you're the talk of the neighbors with all your wood stacks. :lol: Jerry said he thought about asking you if you wanted it, but saw all your stacks and figured that surely you had enough! Gene apparently thought the same thing! :lol: When he and Jerry were talking he mentioned, "Wow, he sure has a lot of wood!" They thought you might be in the wood selling business!"

I "might" have a problem. :lol: I told her we didn't "need" them but I'd hate to see them go to waste.

Not sure really they're pretty good sized tree's. I'd say there could be 10 cords figuring 1/3 cord per tree. My neighbor Gene and his son hit the wood pretty good so I'm not sure if anything will be left for me. If I get some of it I'll be ok with it, if not I won't loose any sleep. I'm just shocked my wife gave me a heads up!

I'm guessing the 2' sections are for the neighbors stove, I think it's a pre-epa stove. If the neighbor doesn't take everything I'll gladly trim the pieces as I need. I don't mind having chunks, I figure they'll work good to fill the gaps or just to have a smaller fire.

I seen the tree's were dead I should have talked to the neighbor about it before but I've been so busy this summer I've hardly seen them. Between gathering wood and trying to spend my extra time with my 6 month old son I didn't have much time to chat with the neighbors.

My neighbor didn't take all the wood so I started loading it up today. With my dads help we put a pretty good dent in it! I have a couple hours worth of work tomorrow(if I can move) :lol: and I should have the majority of it out of the neighbors.

Here is what we hauled over today, most of the wood needs to be re-cut but the price is right! I have at least another cord to bring over. It was getting dark so the pictures aren't the best.

After this is done I might have enough to be three years out!
