When I got my string trimmer, the dealer said that they did stand behind the warranty pretty well, but mostly they didn't need to, as it was very rare to have one come back for service, other than blatant abuse problems. (and if it was abused they were a lot tougher on the warranty, as they should be...)
Certainly my unit has stood up very well so far.
