Local stove shop closing doors and selling floor models..

Quadrafire isle royale with porcelain mahogany finish $1800... less Gov rebate 30% $1260.. I should have bought it on the spot. But went home to check some measurements it was gone 1/2hr later when I called.. I feel sick..

There should be a support group for things like this. They have nothing else there you would be interested in?

They did have a new cast iron isle royale but that was still $2700. That was the only other big stove they had I was interested in.

Call and see if they still have the cast isle royale and offer 2k for it - never hurts to ask

Well I went back to shop after a few months and low and behold they still had the new isle royal marked down to $1500 from $2700. SO I offered them $1200 and they took it! WoW, they must have been desperate. Its sitting in my garage right now, I will install it this weekend! It is however missing the griddle handle, but im sure thats cheap.

Sounds like everything worked out perfect! :)

They've been going out of business since October? Sounds like some of the furniture stores here...they've been going out of business since they went into business...they just never seem to go completely out of business. Congrats on the stove! Rick

Yeah, something like that. Its a family farm and fleet kinda store. New owners are getting out of the stove biz.

Here she is sitting in the garage.

$1200 sounds like one hell of a deal. Congrats!

Wow, way to go, you got a great deal on a great stove!

Good things come to those who wait?

Purty stove.

He who buys without checking measurements loses money.

Congrats. You got yourself the best stove on the market for less than half of retail, and the best color configuration too!

It's almost worrying to me that the shop owners didn't put it up on ebay and get themselves a much better deal on it, though. It definitely worked out for you.

Edit: from your pic, i'm not seeing a component that is on mine(and failing). Is there a piece of angle iron on the top of the rear bricks, holding them in place?

You've lost burning time. Get that puppy installed! :)

Honestly I was surprised it was still there, it had been 4 months since my last visit to the store. Maybe I should list the stoves for them and take a cut!

Not sure about that angle iron, but when checking out the stove I did pull/shift the rear bricks and nothing obvious seemed out of place or missing. But I will check it tonight.

I am however missing the Griddle tool to open the top. Any idea how much that will cost?

Man. . . If I had a dime fir every major opportunity I've blown. . . . I'd have, like $12.

Here is the install!

Well almost, need to trim up the chimney liner so I can move the tee up to work with the IR.

What is the best tool to cut this stainless steel liner? Last time I used a cutoff wheel and a pair of scissors.
