Garage or Re-Stacker? Pellet storage?

Just thought I would inquire if i am the only one nuts enough to move 6 ton of pellets off their pallets , into the storage space off my living room.

So are you lucky enough to have your delivery straight into your garage?

So whats worse than a pellet pig? A pellet pig restacker, he gets to hug each bag on the walk into the house.
 
Garage (attached) delivery, then Pellet pig handle them into the basement. Some drivers won't stack in a garage do to insurance issues.

Photo, I'd say that if you have the room, extra pallets to put down first, and are feeling strong, go for it. Once it's done, you won't have to move them later on when it's cold, right?

I don't use my garage, although I have plenty of room and 11' doors. I have a "wood shed" next to the house, and pellet sales brought the pellets from the road (200') and plopped them right in.

I DID re-stack a ton of Premiers and a ton of Rocky Mtns., but only to get a total of 3.1 tons into the basement....should last me well into Feb. if not longer....I'll be burning mostly oil as long as it stays low (under $2.50/gal).

Pellet Re-stacker here..
No garage and shed is full of the stuff I took out of the basement to make
more room for pellets ;-)
 
Pellet re-stacker, but only 3 tons. No garage, have to walk around back through the bulkhead. That's what I had children for.

Have a big garage but too much crap in there to have the delivery guy
push them inside so we have the skids dropped in front of garage door
then stack one ton in my enclosed 3 season back porch and three tons
in the garage. Myself, brother, sister and a friend and it's a pretty quick deal.

Moved 2.6 tons from the driveway to the shed. It was about 100 feet. Not 6 tons but I didn't find it easy. You are a super hero
 
this year I had to load trailer with two tons, by hand me and the woman where i bought them, then load in garage. Then a second trip loaded with a machine unloaded by hand again,for a total of four tons. And of course it had to be 85-90 degrees that day.
 
6-1/2 tons total, load 1/2 ton in truck (or 800 in cab when it's raining), drive them home, carry them down into basement and restack them. The whole time knowing the stack would get moved again when the corner they belong in gets cleaned out.

Russ, you expected anything different??? LOL Same thing for me when I brought the ton of premiers and ton of Rocky Mtns. home....I sweated my a** off!
 
I am lucky enough to have a walkout basement with double doors. The guy that delivered my pellets was able to slide the pallets thru the doors and gave me a pallet jack to move them to there final position. Took all of ten minutes. As my stove is also in the basement my total pellet handling is to grab a bag off the pallet walk twelve feet and pour it in the hopper. This sure beats the stacking, moving, restacking, etc of four to five cords of fire wood I used to do with a wood stove.

I thought I'd heard of every brand. Wrong again. Clever name though. Have you burned those before?
 
every year. they are rail shipped here and custom bagged by my dealer.
 
I keep mine in my attached garage. It's large enough that I have room for 3 pallets (70 bags each) and still able to park our two vehicles. It's just a short walk from the mudroom entrance to the stove.

Unfortunately, they never have a pallet jack available, so I need to have them dropped in front of the garage and then I restack them. It's not bad, though, as it only takes a couple of hours to move the three pallets (with breaks to save the back, lol).
 
I leave mine outside along my driveway sealed and covered with individual tarps. When I break the seal I unload the whole ton+ on to a dedicated pallet in my garage. I try to handle the pellets as little as possible.
 
Burned 1 ton of the Uncle Jeds last year and yes they are good!! Good heat with very little ash. We got 5 ton delivered for this year
 
I have yet to put a drive gate on my fence, so this year it was:
1.Pick up a ton (alone)
2. Unload/stack in driveway (alone)
3. Repeat two more times.
4. Move/restack all three tons in back of house (with help)
5. Cuss myself for not putting in gate.

Fiancee was at work when pellets were on weekend sale.

OK, I must be a dummy....what is a "drive gate", and how is it related to unloading pellets??? :-/
