Heat from Pellet Stove

Hi guys,

I have an enviro empress fireplace insert with a full liner. This is our second year using it and started using it this month. (Can't believe we got snow already!)

Anyway......I am wondering what temperature should the air be coming out blower portion of the stove. Today when I woke up after the stove running all night. The air was marginally warm at best. The fire was still going strong however.

What are the possible problems? And do I need to have a professional come take a look at it?

When was the last time the stove was completly cleaned?Sounds like your heat exchanger could be caked with ash.
 
Thanks for the reply...but thats not it... it was cleaned before the start of the season (in August) by a professional. And I brush the heat exchanger plate daily.
 
Pellets?

Are you burning the same as last year or something different.

The guys at the big box will say there all the same! :lol:

Us pellet heads know better. You want heat? Gotta burn the good stuff to get it.

Last year I burned several brands. Pennington's were the coolest. I use a IR Temperature meter. I measure the glass to get a comparison. the Pennington's generally ran in the 400's. Clean Fire ran in the upper 500's and once hit 600. Definite difference by brand. With the Cleanfire's I could turn down the feed rate, more heat for the buck that way.

Thanks for correcting me on that Jay.....Absolutely right, and my sincere apologies to JRB....I just didn't pay attention. :red:

obie25, what brand pellets are you burning?
