First picture is beautiful. I'll have a set up like that someday. Both running?

Yep, both are running. First time running the Intrepid. I have it hanging around at about 400* but can't get it any higher. It took a while to get it up to that point, also. I'll have to play around with it for the next few days to see what the deal is.

The other one is an old Vigilant. That one I finally figured out how it likes to burn. Now it is just 'set it and forget it'. It will hang out at 400*-550* for hours.

Looks good Browning and I'm betting that heat feels good too.

nice setup!
what a nor'easter huh? where's the 60mph wind and hard rains the weatherman was predicting? All Ive seen was a sprinkle and low temps. not much wind or rain.
it is nice to have the house 40 degrees warmer inside than outside. im not missing oil heat at all.

I did two fires last night and then stoked them this AM. JUst shut them all the way down and will wait til later - maybe 6 hours on the Jotul and 8 on the Avalon - to stoke them up for the night.

I expect I can give them a few days rest this week when temps climb a bit.

Waiting for the nor' easter to roll in, but it was a bit chilly out last night.

It was nice having 2 inserts burning making the house extremely warm and comfortable for the whole house without starting the oil on either of the 2 zones.

you werent kidding when you said you lived in an older house. ;)

I was going to chase the deer around today since it's smokepole season but it didn't happen with the weather. The big thermometer says it's 37F at the moment and the covered deck is soaked. At some point it was raining sideways.

Gee, I'm only about 30 miles for Doylestown and haven't had a fire in my Quadrafire yet. I have had the Heat Pump running, however. Doylestown got on my "radar screen" when I needed heart surgery, it was done by Dr. Auteri at the Doylestown Heart Institute, a great hospital, should you ever need one - and live in the area. Doylestown looks like a great town, in a very nice area of PA.
