Wood shed plans?

Good idea right now.

look up on a search like yahoo or google, shed built from pallets

Do a search in this forum for wood shed, it's been discussed to bloody death over and over.

Good thing you're not looking for good, fast, and cheap. You know what they say, "pick any two". If you want fast and easy, erect a metal carport.

AlaskanRedneck...go for a lean-to off the side of the house or other outbuilding.

I built mine this spring for about $350,I went a little fancy and could have done it more basic for less money. Here is a pic of it with the trim unpainted.

very nice for 350. how muchwood does it hold? how well does it dry wood?

Since these pics I have applied a big blue tarp over the whole thing. We had three days of steady 40 mph winds with some really strong gust and I had no problems.

I see you have used block at the corner posts , how did you tie it down so the wind doesn't lift it.
I thought of using those same blocks so the county can't call it a permanent structure and add 350.00 a year on my tax bill.

My shed holds well over 5 cords,and all sides are open to allow any wind to get to it,I made the roof overhang extend so nothing gets wet when it rains out, I even added a gutter so the rain splashing doesn't get on the wood and freeze in the winter. The blocks are working fine for me,the shed is usually full of wood so I can't see enough wind getting under it to lift it, besides it's quite heavy and should be able to withstand a severe storm without setting sail.

Very nice shed. Might I ask the dimensions? I'm looking to build something similar. I was thinking about making it lower, but then I think it would sprawl too much to get in the 4 cords of wood I'd like to store.

roof is 16' long x 9'ish wide over peak approx 8' h at peak I had some leftover roofing material left over from my house that saved me some $$ shingles are very expensive these days and I ended up using roll roofing in the back where I can't see it from my house!

I have a question about this type of shed. For the winter (or rain, for that matter), what do you do to protect the wood from snow? I could see it being blown in there or simply falling in there.

Is that an issue?

Snow is not an issue. Any snow that drifts in will sublimate.

I put a gutter on the front to protect the wood from rainwater splashing and freezing,I guess snow can drift up on it but I don't think it will be a big issue, certainly better than dealing with tarps and snowfall.
