they use whole tree chipping...so i would have to say "yes" to the bark.

mike

also, for jay...the ash content seems to be about the same , maybe a little less from last years pellets. didnt get a chance for pics, the daughter spent quite a bit of time with her grandmother this weekend...we got not so good news from nannie on friday , so the kid is spending what time she can with her.

Mike,

Don't worry about the ash comparision. I would say its trival compared to the other issue at hand. Do what you need to do with your family, And Spend as much time as possible with nannie. Thats what counts.

Wish you all the best.

I remember Dave from the Athens plant telling me this past spring when he swopped my last ton of their pellets that they have changed drastically but they would always have a high ash & he wasn't exagerating . Compared to other brands i have tried , including the new & improved Athens, ash was too much for me . Remember the old adage " you get what you pay for" . Muss
I burned two tons of freedom fuel last year and didn't notice the kind of ash drifts I am getting from MWP, I notice that the auger causes showers of sparks every time it moves which must be the source of the ash as it drifts up in front of the door, a good 12" from the fire in my stove, it also coats the HX in the stove pretty good, and sticks to any creosote in the fire box, I've got stalactites in my firebox!
