Picked up 30bags of Okanagan Pellets today, be interesting how these super star pellets preform compared to the Eagle Valley pellets I have alreay. Was excited to find them though. My wife thinks I am crazy getting excited about pellets!!

Hay, I thought I was the only one. But my wife knows I'm nuts. I think she is worried I might go through some withdrawal symptom's, If she denies my pellet scrounging habits! So she is going along with it. But I do get the eye rolls and head shaking. She's in real trouble if it rubs off on the kid!

BJ's wholesale club, $5.39/bag - $269.50/ton. Less then I paid for the Eagle Valley's and I just really wanted to try them out!
Us guys need a hobby, it just so happens wood and fire makes us happy for a short time......gett'r done!jtakeman said:
BTU you are right, made a mistake....they are $5.39/bag if you buy a pallet (65 bags). $5.69/bag for anything less then a pallet.

I thought so as well, if I did not have 4.5 tons already I would have bought a pallet of them, but I am running out of storage room. Hopefully they will have them next year, as I would like to be able get really good pellets them locally.BTU said:

Not sure you need to be or want to be on the same playing field as those "other pellets". I am always a believer that some things are worth paying extra for. Great pellets are worth the extra cost and I know I am not alone in this thinking. There will always be those people out there that buy price not product, and that is where the "other pellets" fit in. I would always like to see more availability of good product in the market place, but as with anything else most places will carry the middle of the road mass appeal product, for us seeking the best, we just need to look a little harder. I am just glad the good stuff is available!

BTU...do you ever distribute or have distributors located in the Midwest. If you don't, is it even feasible for me to push some of our distributors here in ND to consider this option. Would love to try a GOOD pellet for a change and you along with others have me sold.

I got three bags somewhere else. Can't wait to try them out once my hopper runs dry of the cheap stuff I'm burning now.
I stopped by the dealer today to pick up a 3 inch pipe brush and couldn't leave without picking up 3 bags of okies and 3 bags of dragon mountain.
I'm burning okies now, and couldn't be happier with the results. I'm very tempted to dump the remaining Michigans on CL for a loss just to enjoy burning quality softwood. I know I'll be burning these or some flavor of BC softwood after I move the Michigan dirt pile. No more hardwoods for me.
For reference, I have burned Michigan, Green Supreme- Dragon Mountain and now Okies in the XXV. The stove will burn anything, but I'd rather burn the cleanest pellet around. The Canadians really have their stuff together.

You seem to be catching on to this game rather quickly! I think you also caught the pellet bug and there isn't any know cure.
I find it real hard to beat anything that seems to come from Canada as far as pellets go. We can make them here but only a few mills actually have there stuff together and make a good quality pellet. I still really think its in the fiber. And they got the process down too! I am glad I can get them in my area.
