I bought a ton of Treecycle hardwood pellets for my first ton this season. I'm very pleased with them. At first I was a little nervous because there was a lot of moisture between the bags while they were shrinkwrapped on the pallet. I wiped them all down as I stacked them. I've burned about 4 bags so far and boy are they clean. No fines really to speak of. I have virtually no ash and only slight clinker buildup after burning over night and half of a day. It's been a while since I felt the heat from my stove but these don't seem as hot as some others I've burned. My convection air was coming out at around 149* for the length of the blower cycle. That could be in my head but I've had pellets that I'm not able to put my hand in front of the convection tubes because they're so hot. Overall, I'm impressed with these pellets.

Every pellet burns a little different. What about the length of the pellets? Are they all fairly long? If so, that would mean less pellets are probably going into the burnpot. Shorter pellets will put more pieces in, more pellet surface area, and they should burn faster = more heat??

After burning them for awhile when it really gets cold, I'm sure you'll try adjusting feed rates, air, etc, to get more heat. Keep us updated down the road. These aren't made too far from me, and if they start selling them in SE NY, I may be in the market for some next year.

I bought a ton myself from Cozy Barn in Windgap. I only burned a bag to try earlier in the year and seemed to burn fine but it was only one bag. I have some Pennwood's left over from last year so after those are done I will start burning the Treecycles (hopefully without any issues). The price was right at $225 a ton so we will see!

The length of them is average. They aren't long at all. The guy I bought mine from had a tractor trailer delivery to his house. His family burns pellets as well. He put some extra pallets on Craigslist for 255 per ton and has been holding that price for a while now. He said he's looking into being a vendor for them. He lives near me and we are about 1/2 hour south of Binghamton NY a few miles from I-81. He has a skidsteer with forks to help load them. I think they're made at the new plant down in Nazareth PA.

I burned a bag last year when they first came out and i was hooked, burned clean and nice heat no ash. At the time treecycle was still working of getting the pellets cut to the right size but since then they got that fixed,I bought 15 ton this year!

They also have a plant in NJ. They made the new becuase residence were complaining about the noise. They are 300 ton or 7 bag from a local flower shop in north jersey. I have 3 bags to try this week.

Hey slvrblkk, how do you like the pennwood's? How hot, much ash? Treecycles should be putting out more heat, try adjusting air/trim.

For me they burned very hot, light ash and some clinkers. The pellets look like they were made from a light red oak or something. I would definitely buy these again but decided to try the Treecycles this year. Cozy Barn only had Turmans and Treecycle when I bought my pellets earlier in the year.

Where is this Cozy Barn? Do they stay pretty steady on the price?

Not sure what prices are now, I bought my pellets back in June.

Turmans burn very good, high heat little ash, very comparable to Barefoot,Hammer. They are an oak pellet. If ya get a chance burn em. Looking forward to trying the Pennwoods(when it gets real cold)

How are the treecycle pellets still burning for you? I dont have a problem with them but i had one person say they got lots of clinkers,, I dont have a problem...

I have to empty the clinkers after it burns over night and half the next day. I'm not getting the rapid clinker buildup like I did with Lignetics. The ash is virtually nothing. It's easier to drop clinkers in the ash pan once a day than it is to shut down and vacuum ash every day, that's for sure. I've measured the convection air as hot as 180*.

I talked to a friend today and he has a qaud that he is burning them in and he is getting a lot of clinkers in his ash pot after running a full day and night.

Tree cycle pellets cost more here. They had largest clicker i have ever seen in my pellet stove. They caused a cleaning error on my Quadra fire. The cheaper pellet from the box stores seem to burn better.

What Quad are you burning? I have the older model Mt. Vernon (pre-AE) I have to drop the clinkers to the ash pan once a day and it's no bigger than a golf ball. I don't have to vacuum the ash every day like I did with the box store pellets. I'd rather have to pull a lever once a day than shut the stove down and thoroughly clean it every day. I won't say big box pellets in general, but I had Penningtons.

I am burning them in my harman advance and i have not had one clincker, I kind of think it has to do with the way the quadafires load the pellets, once its dropped into the burn pot it just sits there and with the harman bottom feed it is always moving the pellets around so they dont have time to build up clinckers.

We have three tons of treecycle pellets that were manufactured 07-09 ( look on the side of the bags for number) and was getting a lot of clunkers and overflow with them. I called and let them know the problem I was having so they sent me another bag that was manufactured on 09-09 they burned with no clunkers at all. They said that some of the pellets with early dates were having some problems. I called them today at four thirty to find out what they are going to do for me. I will let you know if the replace them with no extra shipping charge.

I paid 260.00 a ton with delivery

Up date 10-27-09

Treecycle replaced my pellets with no additional charge for delivery. They were professional and concerned that I would be completely satisfied with my replacement pellets. The pellets are burning great now they have a longer burn time then any other pellet that I have used it the past 6 years. I will be placing a order with them next year because the stand by their produced and guarantee it !!!

I have an AE. I am going to check the bag tonight to see what date is on it. Treecycle here is more expensive than other brands unless I can find a cheaper place that are caring them.

all mine are from 07/09 but they still burn fine in my advance no clinckers at all, shazzy1963 what kind of stove you burning them in? seems to me like the quadafires seem to have a problem but the harmans dont? I paid 230 a ton

Just looked yesterday and mine are 07/09. I'm still happy with them.
